Hey there Kabluey! I have claimed you, therefore you are my new slave. I am here to teach you the art of being illegal. I use Elements 6.0, and I'm assuming you have a tablet?
If not, that's fine. It will make a few things harder, but we'll get over that bump if we have to. You've got some good art so far, and I'm mostly self-taught as well ^^
So I'm going to run through the basics with you, and you'll probably fly right through them. Tell me, what are your goals, that way we have something to look forward to.

Thank you hun. I can't wait to get started. I am sorry it took so long to reply to this, things have been hectic. Anyway, no I do not have a template . Unfortunately. I don't know where to get one either. And yeah, I taught myself but I still don't know that much. My goals are mainly just to make things look more smooth and natural. i want to learn how to smudge a horse for sure, get better at manes and tails, learn to do shadows, put everything into a table, um... and add in effects like water, sunlight, stuff liek that. I dont know just bring everything into a picture instead of it being so blah like mine.

Sometimes blah is good ^^ We can start with cutting for now, work from the basics up. Cut out a horse and put it on a coloured background. Tell me what tool you used

This is my first failed attempt. It has been a while since I have done this and blahhhh.. It is horrible. What I do is, I lasso the main picture, and then put it on the background I want and then erase the extra stuff from the main background it came from .. then i do all the xtra stuff.. i know its probably the longer way to do it but my photoshop didnt come with a pen... Cut Image

It didn't come with a pen? *world must be coming to an end!*
Well, it's not that bad. The bottom of the muzzle is shaped a little funny, but you did good keeping the edges clean.
Do you know how to body smudge?
